I read a great article in my Catholic newspaper today. It was about sweating blood. We need to resist tempation to the point of sweating blood like Jesus did. Every time we say no to tempation we sweat blood. That may include saying no to lust, giving up a dream to care for a family member, giving that extra 20 bucks to the poor, fasting during Lent, being faithful at all costs to our families, wives, husbands and loved ones. If you are willing to die for your wife, kids and Jesus are you willing to live for him???

That is deffinantly a deep topic that could be discussed on how we can do that and make out lives better. i never thought about it in a way to where we sweat blood, that is awesome to think about. Thank you very much for sharing, please dont stop on pouring the blessing out to everyone =)

Hello, I'm a new member here. Found the site by searching for information on sweating blood. Yesterday my 11 yr old daughter sweat blood and it scared us very much. I researched it (actually I had to because the doctor had nothing on it himself) and its a condition called hematidrosis. Its a result of extreme psychological distress. Needless to say we got our doctor to refer her to a psychologist. Its rare, but sweating blood is a very real thing. And its a real eye opener. I had no idea my daughterwas under this much stress. Love, Carolyn

I've heard this happening before as well. It's when someone is under so much stress that the blood vessels literally exploded near the surface of the skin, thus excreting blood. It's aparently very rare though, but it does happen, as it did with our Savior.

Wow, can you imagine? I've thought I've been through some rough days - but I guess if I wasn't sweating blood, it wasn't TOO stressful. Gosh, I need to remember to have gratitude.
Thank you Jesus.

I was reading about this sweating blood and what it means that Jesus sweat blood-
"The sweat of blood has central significance here. It is by no means just a device invented by St Luke to increase the melodrama of Jesus' agony. It has in fact been medically recorded occasionally in other people's situations of extreme horror. For instance, when a mother saw her child being crushed in front of her by a bus.
This shows that the sweating of blood was not out of anxiety towards his impending death, but like the mother's as she saw her son get killed- due to the anguish and horrible experience of visioning the panorama of humanity's sins across time.
Jesus sees the totality of our race, individually and socially, and the appalling damage we have done to ourselves and to others, and to God's plan of love.
He sees the horror our sins have caused and the suffering we have experienced because of them.
The sheer horror and dread of this experience causes his human nature to react with such sorrow, so deep a pain that we cannot fathom it.
In that vision he loves each one of us despite what we are and apologises from each of us to teh father. We are his chalice. His drinking of it is our redemption."
pretty touching stuff. Science can always help to explain more. Here it reads between the lines for us. Luke says "Jesus sweat blood" science shows the true significance of this. There is harmony between the 2.

In addition to that awesome entry, he sweat blood because of us. ouch, i don't know about you but I suddenly have an erge to go to confession!
Also, just like Christ thought of everything we would do BAD in the future, he remembered everything we do GOOD too, and it comforted him in the garden. Everything you do that is difficult or hard, do the right thing and think: for the comfort of our Lord, savior of us all."

Its funny our confirmation class was talking about that and we had some researcher guy come down and said that its possible and he said its not a very pleasant feeling that when your scare enough your blood rushes throughout your body and veins burst and blood rushes out through your sweating glands which is in his words very painful so the fear of Christ KNOWING he was gonna die made sweat blood So please dont forget Christ's passion He lived and died for us so that we can live and gain Eternal life
Peace be with you :crosself:
