Hey everyone!
I'm somewhat new here and thought I'd start my first thread!
For fellow Christians: what are some things/people that have helped you to grow spiritually and have inspired/encouraged you and that have helped lead you to takes steps of faith never thought possible? Maybe it applies also to how you came to know the Lord! Please share! :)

Studying the Bible with a good friend helped me.

For me, my parents are always supportive of my faith. They willingly let me step in to areas that might be considered a bad influence, but they led by example and I was always encouraged by teir walk. Also, I was a part of a very strong youth group at church and we were very tight as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Just recently, since I came to James Madison University, I have been a part of a movement called Campus Crusade for Christ. Crusade takes great steps of faith and shows love toward fellow students. Being a part of an organization with a heart for the lost has been an incredible experience.
This summer I am going on a missions trip for 10 weeks to Myrtle Beach, SC with about 60 other students involved with Crusade in different schools across the nation. We are going to get real 30-40 hours-per-week jobs while there, and at night we will have fellowship, worship, bible studies, discipleship, etc. as a means of being spiritually poured into. On weekends we are going to have awesome outreaches just to show love and maybe to share our faith as well. Those of you who are at college or are in high school looking for a college, check out campus crusade for Christ's web page (http://www.campuscrusadeforchrist.com) to see if you would like to be a part of it at YOUR school ;)
anyway, these are some things that have certainly helped me grow. :holy:

I was a member of a small church, that was very strong spritually. We had an associate pastor that just graduated from Wesley Collage and was full of theological knowelege. Every Wednesday and Sunday evenings, he held a class where he taught us about God and our relationship with Him. I learned so much from him.
Secondly, I have learned a lot and grown stronger spirtually here on these boards. There are some great teachers here who will help explain things to you in easy to understand ways.

To tell the truth, i really didn't have anyone close to lead me by the hand, rather, i felt i was being led on by God. All the things that happened involved an inspiring book (i love reading) i accidentally picked up from a table; and mom dragging me to a mission training "during the holiday". Coincidences, coincidences! they were no coincidences i'm sure.
