Blessed-one

immediate family.
but why not? tell us whether your immediate family is saved as well as your other relatives.
for me, all my relatives on my mom's side are saved (though whether they act like christian is another matter...), but my dad's still out in confusion land.

Yes- I am very blessed in this area. I became a Christian when I was quite young (because of a friend asking me along to church) ... and eventually all of my family followed me to church and got saved :D
I can't imagine having it any other way- my heart goes out to those whose family aren't saved. My relatives are not (like my momthers parents) and it bothers me a lot. But, they just won't listen to me when I try to speak to them about it

Im 17 and my family is not all saved... In terms of my immediate family, Out of a family of 5 im the only one saved. And as for my extended family, i have to say were pretty strong in the faith however my greatgrandmother is really strictly religious and what not, but it just isnt too cool that my parents arent saved... my dads an aethiest and mom was born and raised a catholic but doesnt really practice it at all... thats just a lil about me... im acutally saved because of my aunt and uncle, they would always go to church and whenever i slept over they made me go and sit with them which i eventually caught on to and now i go myself... so its really cool... all i can say is just pray for your family and be a light in their life for them if they arent saved, and it might be hard but its something you should just do... one quick last thing... i was at my friend brendans house (a friend from my youth group) and i was talkin to his mom and she said something that will ALWAYS stick with me for the rest of my life... she says... its a great thing to be a christian and to be able to go to heaven but nothing is better then going to heaven with your family...
well peas out everybody!

This is one of my problems that i discussed in the struggles, depression and recovery section.
I have a family of four (My parents, my brother and me)
and also an aunt, uncle and 4 cousins who iam very close to.
Out of the four, iam the only "real" Christian.
My brother comes to Christian Union and basically believes in Jesus.
But he doesn't do anything that is Christian and gets into fights a lot. :(
My mum and dad both went to church when they were younger, and they are very supportive of me going.
When i talked to them about what they believe, my dad believes in God and going to heaven after death. And my mum sort of believes the same, but isn't sure. Neither of them are too interested in it though. :(
As for my aunt, uncle and cousins. My youngest cousin (she's 13) is also a Christian. But her brother, 2 sisters, mum and dad are not.
They are not athiests, but they don't see Christianity as relevant to their lives. :(
Me and my cousin are the only ones. We always support each other where possible, because we've got no one else in our family whos Christian. :help:

All you can really do is pray about it, talk about your faith as much as they will allow, and answer any questions they have about it. The rest is up to them and God.

Are all the memebers of my family saved? Yes and no.
My husband is saved.
All six of my children are saved--as well as the spouses fo the three who are married.
My mother is saved.
My brother, however, is not, nor his wife, nor their children.
And I have other family as well--my husband's brother and his son, my mother's family in Europe--who are not saved.
I am continuing to pray, as I have for years. I am continuing to believe.

It's a miracle that either my husband or I are saved. I and possibly another brother (who will not say he is or isn't saved and doesn't talk about Christ) are saved. I really count that I am the only one saved in my family as I find it hard to understand why my brother does not want to acknowledge Christ which seems in contradiction to the Bible. I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters. All of us are married with the exception of 1 brother. None of their significant others are saved. My parents (they are divorced) are also not saved.
My husband is saved, which he got saved 5 yrs ago. None of his family (2 brothers, 1 sister, mother, father) are saved.
We are raising our children up in church and teaching them about Jesus. We pray that maybe God will use our children to reach our families for Christ.

I would say, a saved condition.
Matthew 24:13 says: "He who endures unto the end, that one will be saved."
Since the end has not arrived yet, and there is the possibility of deflecting from the faith, then one cannot be 'once saved, always saved'.
Noah was not saved until the end......until he boarded the ark, and was saved from the global deluge.

Both of my parents have passed...so I don't actually know if they were saved because I was only saved after their passing, so we never talked about it. I live with my sister and grandparents...and they are all saved, however each one of us attends a different church. So, we also don't really talk about it because of difference of opinion concerning religion. quite tiring.

i think maybe just 1 cousin
my dads a bit agianst it with my bro(GREATLY AGIANST IT)
and my mum has the wrong ideas (its about what you do)
maybe i should show her that passage in Ephessians
"For its by Grace that youve been save not throught your own works but by FAITH"
i think that might help her a bit

Unfortunately the members of my family are not followers of Jesus - except for an aunt on my mother's side. My mother - who died 7 years ago - died in the friendship of Jesus and was in love with Him. Thank God! My paternal grandmother had a lot of faith too and was constantly in prayer.
On my husband's side, his oldest brother is a Christian who lives the Christian life and loves to Word of God - he is an avid Bible reader - it's wonderful - and very faithful to his church.
I've mentioned these people, but I do not wish to judge who's saved and who's not in my family (or husband's family) because God only knows who really is or isn't as I cannot see my family members' innermost thoughts in their hearts.
God bless everyone!

I'd like to think that my family is, because they all believe in God or Jesus.. but I could never really know because they won't go as far as speaking more than a sentance about faith... nor do they go to church, so God is the only one who knows. I have extended family members who don't believe and admit too :(

Out of my immediate family I am the only one Saved. My mom comes close to it, being brought up half Russian Orthodox and half Jehovah's Witness, but with me being able to talk to her about my beliefs I think she's starting to see that those paths aren't really for her. My dad is an athiest completely, which he then tends to bug me about every little thing, but recently I've been able to "mature" and just take it as it is. I know he won't change. I don't doubt God and I know He could change my father, but my father has completely closed off his heart to this matter. My sister does believe in God and she prays sometimes, but she doesn't believe in the need of a close relationship with Jesus. Although they don't understand my dedication to the work of Jesus, both my mom and my sister do support me. My mom said to me the day I was Saved: "I dont care what denomination you are as long as you believe in God and Jesus."

I was a camp counselor at Mechanic Falls Advent Christian camp and was privileged to see both my (younger) brothers go to the altar. One the first week and one the second week. The weeks were age for different age ranges.
And I know my parents are as well.
And most of my cousins and their families.
I thank my paternal grandparents for raising their children with such a strong Christian foundation.
Thanks Jesus.

Good, :) All of my family memebers are saved, well at least close family memebers. Some cousins and uncles and aunts on my Dad's side are'nt as well as my Grandad and Charlie. That poll is pretty staggering, it shows how much we should be praying for the unsaved, especially those of our family and friends.

none of my immediate family are. They think I'm weird or ill or something, get mad if I follow my beliefs and have been known to tempt me with sinful things in the past. It can be offensive as they believe I have been brainwashed but in all fairness I know that isn't what they are trying to do. My Nana on my dad's side is saved but she is scizophrenic and has altziemers too so I can't really talk to her about it and my Aunty is a christian but we still disagree on some of the fundamentals of christianity which means that we can't really discuss it either. The great thing is that I have a very supportive friendship network and I'm sticking by God hoping that if my family see what a great thing the Lord is for me, they may be able to be a little more understanding one day! :prayer:

aww, God bless you. You know there was a girl like that in our youthgroup, and an old lady stood up one time after this girl had asked for prayer for her family, and told her that even though she couldn't remember her name she wanted to call her Faithful. (So I was wondering if that's what I could call you :) ) I'll be praying for you. That's tough. ONe of my friends recently became a Christian, and her family scoffs at her for reading the Bible. I hope she will stick to it no matter the persecution she gets at home.

My mom, sister and brother are all saved. My husband too - praise God, after many years of resistance although it took a crisis to have it happen. Unfortunately, no one in my husband's family is saved. I am feeling particularly prodded by God to be more active in witnessing to my mother-in-law. It's tough, she is very opinionated and an alcoholic. But I love her and I want to see her in heaven.

Do any of us have security?
does the Bible say we must work out our salvation with fear and trembling?
I sure would like to know now for certain that eternal life is mine and my friends and family ... i wonder how many have that security for certain...perhaps another poll?

Not all my family members are saved. But I have been witnessing to my neices and plan to witness to other members of my family also.
The approach I have been taking with my neices is pretty much showing her that I love and care for her no matter what she goes through. I may not approve of some of the decisions she is making or some of her actions, but I will always love her. I bought her a Bible and when I visit her, we read scripture out loud together.

"Yes" This answer is a bit misleading cause I do not have a traditional family. However, just as Jesus stated "Whoever does the will of God is my mother, brother..." So, even though I do not have a "mother" "father" "brother" or "sister," I do have a family in Christ, and that family is built on a love that will be here when the Earth is no more.

Not yet, but I'm still praying for them, and have faith that they will be.
My mom & dad are saved, as are my grandparents.
My husband was "at one time" but has gotten pretty far from God (was a practicing pagan/Odinist for a while). Now he's "trying to make a decision", and I can really see him leaning toward God, but being hesitant to make a decision (most of our friends are/were pagan, and I think he's afraid of their opinions - some of them freaked a little when I got saved, but they're cool with it now).
I'm not sure about my sister and her husband. They don't go to church or anything, but she was attempting to send her little boys to church for a while. I don't see her or talk to her very often (she lives across state, along with most of my family), and obviuosly I'm not God and don't know her heart, so I don't know what she believes.

YES, but i have a small family.
my grandparents died two years ago, they were saved. So without them, my entire family consits of 12. All saved, but questionably my uncle may have fallen a bit. But honestly thats not for me to judge, he still says he loves God.

Neither my immediate family nor my husband's family are saved. I became saved after I got married in my adult years. My heart goes out to every one here who has unsaved family. My family doesn't like hearing my talk about anything Christian, so witnessing in Word is tough, but I try to set a good example and pray for them every day. It's hard being the lone Christian in the family. It also makes it hard for me to go to a local church.

Most of my family is, but I don't think my brother gives religion a thought at all. He just says he's agnostic and does whatever he wants. But then, he is 17 so maybe its just a life stage thing? High schoolers think they're invincible at that stage...he's got lots of time to think about it (hopefully).

Most of my family is (not all of my in-laws). My parents, brothers and neices are. We all go to the same church. Tons of fun. Last month my two brothers and I (and all our families and church) dedicated our children to God. It was an incredible service. Lots of kids. Four that I was related to, including my daughter.

Although many of my relatives have come to know Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, there are still others that I am not sure about. I pray for all of them, that those who have accepted Christ will grow in their relationship with Him and for those that haven't accepted Him to be convicted by the Holy Spirit. I have found in my family that it is best to stand back and wait for the Holy Spirit to open the doorway of discussion, if not it is like talking to a wall.

2 of my siblings are too young to understand who Christ really is. (They're infant and 2 years old). We all attend church and live Christian lives, but my 3 younger siblings (infant, 2, and 5) have yet to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. (although my 5-year-old sis is seeking the Holy Ghost and is gradually coming to understand who Jesus really is) And then my parents, myself, and my 12-year-old sis all have repented of our sins, been baptized in Jesus name, and recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost. So to put the term "saved" on my family, i would think so, but only God can be the true judge of that. :)

It is best to sometimes just pray for your family. My family is getting saved one by one. Some who I never thought would allow Jesus into their heart. Keep lifting your family in prayer. He's a lot bigger than us and knows how to reach each heart.
Hang in there and get some other believers to pray with you.

are they saved? It's my understanding that every person in my immediate and extended family has prayed for salvation. "Yes".
what do you do about it? Your second question presupposes a negative answer to the first question. Does it not?
What can a person do who is a saved Christian and can't answer the first question in the affirmative? Not lose hope, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING I Thess. 5:17, and show God's love in your life, speaking of God as you would anything else that was important to you, (which often makes the subject itself more broachable.)
And don't forget...this is a personal decision. It's a personal choice made of individual free will. You can't make it for anyone other than yourself. You can allow God to use you. But you really have to relinquish control of it to God. Accept and trust. In fact...like someone said earlier, even if you witness someone praying out loud to be saved, you can't see their heart. Only God can.

I actually dont know, they attend a christian church, but I did too and did not know the Lord in a personal way.... I pray for them often and I live my life for Chirst, knowing that my family sees it all. And as I have opertunity I share with them. They all are religious and have familiarity with scripture. So mainly I sahre with them as a beleivers, praying wiht them for things, talkign about the things the Lord is teaching me, Challenging them to live as Jesus would have them. I know they think Im a bit fanatical to bring Jesus out of Sunday morning to every day of the week, but I know it also makes them hungary to really have relationship with Him

The promises about our household members and other scriptures, are dependent upon their individual acceptance or rejection of this [these] conditional scriptures. Especially after they've heard the gospel of Messias/Christ preached or have been witnessed to, as the Phillipian jailers family was, less the entire world would be saved unconditionally, contradicting Jn.3:14(16-17)21, no matter what they've done. :amen:
Keep praying for them, "with Ecad/God, nothing is impossible", still it's rheir choice, only one 'deathbed' convert in the gospels, even then, he was being crucified with Messias/Christ!

It is their choice to Christian or not....and they are good people, so.....do they have to be Christian to be loved by God? Personally I think God reaches out in so many ways...He is, after all, the Father (Mother, parent, friend......whatever you call Him/Her..He is all) of all life

Yes we all have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and we hope to be saved by persevering to the end. All of my family is Catholic (except for my husband, which I am sure he will be eventually, but he has been baptised and believes in Jesus and that is good enough for me) and we all have strong relationships with Jesus, which we nurture through the sacraments of the Church.

My family includes my wife (of 18 years), my 15 yr old son and 12 yr old daughter. My wife was not saved when I met her, but after about four months, I had the privilege of leading her in the sinners prayer for her salvation.
When my son was eight, one Sunday evening, my wife came downstairs from putting our son to bed and said that Dustin wanted to talk to me. I went up to his bedroom and he asked me how to be saved. What an exciting momment for me. Leading my own son in the prayer of salvation. Just now, remembering this, I'm overtaken with tears.
About a year ago, my daughter prayed the sinners prayer in Sunday School. My one friend (the other Brian) was her Sunday school teacher and he had the privilege of leading Daniele in prayer.

I reply as Jesus, "my mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice." Luke 8:26 that's my real family

No, not all of my family members are saved.
But I am living a life of Christ so that I may be a great example to them. I talk to my siblings on a variety of things to help them make the choice to be saved.
I stand in faith for my family, that they will all be saved;)

No they are not, or do not seem to be saved. In the past I have tried to witness to my family but I am so awkward and fumbling and they harrassed me so. At this point in time I am open about my beliefs but do not actively try to win anyone for the Lord. A few of my siblings go to church and have some understanding of spiritual things.

Saddly no...My mom and sister get so mad at me when I witness to them. They believe just going to church makes you saved. My sister says "your freaking me out." I know they are not because how they live, VERY "worldly." I will continue to pray for them though and witness when I feel led.

I voted no because that seemed like the best answer out of the two options.
One time and one time only I talked to my Mother and what her view on God was. She replied that she does not believe in a God even though she used to. I know both my parents grew up as Christians, my Father in a very conservative Christian household which (sadly) fell into many closed-minded, superiority complex and outcasting of others that stereotypes of conservative Christians carry.
I think that my parents got just very angry at God because their son developed autism before he was age two. But I am not them so I can't really know at all.
I have no idea for my sister, never talked with her at all about faith or God.

No - but I don't see the point of saying that you're saved - you won't know for sure until you die. "Saved" is a protestant idea.
