I was just wondering if anybody else has been there? How did you get there? And how does one act when he's visiting a Monastery? Also, which big city is Platina close to?

It's up the coast from San Francisco in California.
That's a long trip. Will you be going with someone?

Yeah, I may be going with my Dad, or some other members of my family. Non of them are religious/Orthodox though.

Check with BAChristian over in OBOB. He lives near San Francisco. Maybe he can meet you?

If you can't make it to St. Herman's you can always take a trip to St. Tikhon's in South Caanan, PA. I'm going there with my soon to be spiritual father and some other people from my church on the last weekend in may. I can't wait :) :) :) I live in PA though, so it's kinda easy for me to get there.

"If you go there, take a jacket..."
--Billy Crystal, his spoof on "Field of Dreams" in his comedy special "Midnight Train to Moscow."
Seriously, if you come here, you would be best off to call your Auntie Suzannah so she can meet you at the monastery!

Yes, I would. It's about four hours drive from here. ( I live n the desert interior of Northern Nevada, near Pyramid Lake). Actually, I've not been there yet. It would be icing on the cake to make my first trip there, to meet YOU and "company". The very best thing would be if you brought Umut with you...*sigh*...an Auntie can wish right???
Which reminds me of an Irish joke:
How many Irish mothers (Aunties) does it take to change a light bulb????
None!
"Tha's alllrighttttttttttttt dearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...ye gae on dooooooooooon t' ta Pub...gae on wi't yer friends.....dinna worryyyyyyyyyy 'bout me....Ah'll be herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre....aloooooooooooone....in ter darrrrrrrrk....alone.......lonely...."
:D

You hear that Andreas? No matter how much you'd like to deny my wish; you can't deny hers!
LoL
Come on! I'm excited! I'm going to meet Suzannah!
You know what crossed my mind? When I would meet Suzannah I imagine that she would be taller than me, but now that I think more about it, I picture it that she will be smaller than me; which feels weird!!
lol... where IS my brain...?

Yeah, it would be great to bring Umut, but that doesn't seem possible.:(
But yeah, I hope everything would work out and we could meet at such a Holy place.

Not with that attitude Andreas!!
You know what's a great idea Suzannah? That we talk on the phone!
Now, since I'm horrible with geography, do you live in the states, or Ireland??
lol, please don't laugh at me!!!

I shall pray that it happens.
Andreas if you're worrying about my mother; I'll convince her, it's no problem! Also, if we go for like a week maximum, I can take time off my compulsory summer job (i gotta work at the YMCA because I have a scholarship, i have no choice)
it will be great!
