Hello all,

I have a question that I've been wondering about for some time now. What exactly are visions, and how do they appear?
I've been really interested in this gift for some time now.... after reading revelations it seems like something amazing to experience. :)

Thanks a bunch,

I think they are something like really vivid dreams. Dreams way to vivid and real to be anything but real.

In the begining I struggled with sin and sin often won. I would quickly repent, but knew that there had to be something more...like, you can't just say you're sorry over and over, ya know?.....Then one night I was praying about this particular thing and I dozed off while praying. I had a "dream" of Jesus. He was very mad at me, and I asked Him to tell me what repentance is truly. He said, "Repentance is changing your life." Then he grabbed me by my collar, yanked me over to a bird bath-looking fountain, and dunked my head in. I remember that the fountain looked shallow but was deep, and I remember the feeling of the cold water. It was so cold that it woke me up out of my sleep(literally and figuratively:)). From that day on I have had a new life, and it has been several years since then and I still remember it like it was last night. Maybe it was just a dream, but I don't think so. I have many strange dreams that I know are just dreams, but there was something about this dream, because dreams don't change peoples lives.

John's vision was very special indeed, and has became God's final chapter to His word for us.
The dreams and visions that people will have in the last days are like those Rogsr has given and example of. They would be very personal and special for all that would experience them. I have personally not had a daytime vision or anything other than dreams, but that doesn't bother me at all. We walk this walk with God by faith and not just sight or visions. He gives us His word and Spirit to strengthen our faith with . Visions and dreams would be special - icing on the cake or maybe even a warning, as for rogsr.
I have a friend who recently shared with me a vision of the Lord coming back soon. She was excited about that, and I couldn't help but share that with her.
God bless...and Maranatha (the Lord is coming)

Genesis 28:10-17 Jacob dreaming about a ladder to heaven.

Genesis 37 Joseph's dreams of his brothers' servitude.

Judges 7:9-18 a dream that encourages Gideon.

Matthew 1:18-22 Joseph Divinely instructed through a dream.

Acts 10 Cornelius' vision and Peter's vision.

Lotsa visions and dreams from Jesus in this thread...:D

God gives visions and you don't have to be asleep for them but you can't make them happen. You can pray for God to reveal things to you through dreams and visions.

how new a believer are you? do you have a church family yet?

im just a little concerned that you will start exploring the signs, miracles and wonders without knowing the basics of the faith yet. it is easy to be misled when you are not yet growing, rooted in the word. just be careful. it helps a lot to have a mature believer guide you in growing and answer more of your questions as you go through the basics.
