DATABASE SERVER CRASH - Not sure why...

Hi all

We just had a database server crash...

Not sure why this is the case.

I would be interested to know what was happening just prior to the crash.

I am also wondering whether this had anything to do with the Live Newsfeed on our homepage.

Please post any ideas here.

It appears that the forums have slowed down a lot since the crash. Is this because of everyone trying to get back on to the site? Also, did we lose any data?

I think it was the Live News on the homepage. I've removed it. It killed our server. :)

I noticed a little bit ago that cf was really slow, but I thought it was my isp issues....

It was definitely the live news...server's been running slow since it was added :(

Is the Live news thing related any way to the forum RSS feeds?

I noticed that CF had slowed down massively a few hours before news was implemented. I don't think news was the problem.
