Hi dear guests, members and moderators,
I have finally arrived back home to good old Melbourne, Australia, after a 2-week holiday in Italy and Japan with my wife!!!
I did not announce my holiday because I was worried that by doing this I would invite troublemakers - evidently this did not make a difference.
I was in Rome when I got a message on my mobile phone that spammers were at work posting multiple offensive posts in the forums. I had made up my mind to make these holidays an internet-free period, and I wanted to keep it that way. So I spent some time talking to "Droobie" who I had made a Super-Moderator in the meantime. In the end, I upgraded him to Co-Admin status, and he was able to ban the culprits and remove the posts with instructions over the phone.
Unfortunately, these posts were in public display for a few hours. For this I apologise profusely with all my heart. I am very sorry to have subjected guests and members to this kind of rubbish, which should not be present in a family-oriented forum like this. The truth is that moderators cannot be online all the time. At that point, all our moderators were situated in Australia.
We have made changes since. I have gotten Droobie to invite international members to become moderators, including Blackwing (Philippines), Kristen (US) and MizDoulos (US). They have since come aboard as our volunteer staff, and I want to welcome them and thank them for their selfless contributions to this site. By having moderators in most timezones I hope that offensive posts may be reviewed and edited before too many people see them. I have also kept Droobie on as a Co-Admin. We have also disabled all images in posts, threads and signatures. I did not really want to do this, but for the moment this appears to be the best way to remove the threat of offensive images being posted.
I thank you all members for sticking by the site, and by not running away. This is what the posters want. Do not fall into their trap.
Please report any offensive or suspicious posts to the moderators by clicking on the "Report" button located on top of every post.
As for all the guests and lurkers - do register. It's free, and gives you an opportunity to use the chat box, set up the weather update box, and allows you to link in with Christians from all over the world.
Now, about my trip:
I left Melbourne on the 18th of January, to go to Rome. Over the next week my wife and I traveled around Rome, went to the Vatican City (which was quite an amazing place especially as a Christian), to Florence and Venice. We then flew to Tokyo where we spend 4 more days. It was a great trip. I managed to forget about work, and studies. The site was always at the back of my mind, but I left it up to God.
I got off the place a few hours ago, after a looooong flight, and I am exhausted. So I won't spend too much time online.
Just wanting to say "Hi, I'm back" and "Thank you for sticking around!"
God bless you all, and keep on praying for this site. I started this site as a free service for Christians to give God the glory. I praise God for all of you, and pray that you find that it helps your spiritual walk.
