Poll posting?

it all depends on if i want to post in a poll. most often i poll and read through then i rebut anyone's posts if the topic can be rebuted but most often i just post my thoughts.

I often like to elaborate on my reasons for picking a particular option, and there may have been other options that I considered valid, so posting afterwards is an opportunity to mention it. I like to see why other people vote as they do as well, thus my vote for read, poll and post.

After reading the first couple of pages I go to the back and read the last couple.

And sometimes I check back to see if people have commented on my post. I rarely read all the way through, becuase there's SOOOOOO many pages! I don't have THAT much time!

I like to give a reason for why I answer a poll as I do. Then I like to read what others have posted. This helps me to understand the feeling of others better and too also learn. It is my belief that we are all on a contineous journey of learning.

I don't read through normally because there are usually so many pages :) It'd take me all day to get through them all. Guess it depends on how the discussion is going too though. Actually, I usually read the question to the poll first, read all the posts or almost all the posts to the poll, vote in the poll and then post. When I first participated in a poll, I voted first then read other posts because I was unfamiliar and new to this.

For the most part I try to explain my view point.


Some peoples responses are shallow in the sense that it does not give explanations as to why they voted. It's helpful to know why you take the stance you do. I'm not just interested in my opinionated thoughts. Maybe what someone else points out in his/her post will help me notice an error in my thinking when there is one -- then I can make corrections to the view I hold.


Many seem to not like to have to read through all of the many pages of those responses; however, I found some very interesting insight by what others have posted, and I wouldn't have noticed them if I didn't peruse all the postings.


I wonder if some just post for accumulating post count.

Maybe some do not desire to explain their position.

Maybe some just post without reading others because they are only interested in voicing their own thoughts.

Maybe some think their response to the questions asked is cut and dry.


Some I notice simply state they agree and like what someone else posted -- that's helpful because at least one knows why they take that stance.


Sometimes the polls do not have an option that applies to you; therefore, the selection is difficult.


Overall, Droobie does an excellent job with the polls in my opinion.
