Does The Great 'Lent' include sexual activity?

Of course when we give up certain things for lent during the Great Lent; does that include sexual activity? Do we give up sexual activity?

Like not having sex with your wife; or stimulating yourself... *throws up*

Stimulating yourself is always a sin, no matter what time of the year it is.
