This is a debate upon my challenge to the statement that "you are saved if you live a good life (regardless of belief)". In other words, does one require Christ to be saved? Can works alone save someone?
I have challenged indigo tree (accepted) and forIsrael (no reply yet) to a debate. If forIsrael accepts, then I would ask that Lyle (accepted) join with me.
What this is about:
- Does one require Christ to be saved
- Can works alone save someone
What this isn't about:
- The canon of the Bible
- The character of whomever participant
- The particular denomination of whichever participant
Hm...did I miss anything.
If this is alright, then the debate will go like this:
1. 3 posts by each participant pre-debate. This will determine (hopefully ;)) what specifics we will be debating, and how long the debate will be (estimate, of course). It will also serve to clarify anything that may be unclear in the debate constitution (which this whole thing is).
2. Following that, the debate begins. Then...it ends! *gasp*
3. 3 posts each by each participant, post-debate. Ask questions, comment, point out some questions or points that weren't answered, but this is not part of the debte.
No other notes.
