The Western Wall (formery called the Wailing Wall by many)... are non-Jews welcome to visit or is it only acceptable for Jewish people to go there? If I was going on a tour of the Holy Land, is there anywhere I should avoid going out of not being welcomed or accepted?

I have a very nice photo of President George W. Bush paying his respects at the Wall... :)
I can't address your second question, though. Sorry...

Ok so it is open to non-Jews. It's my understanding that all men, regardless of religion, must wear a head covering there correct?

That is my understanding, just as when entering a synagogue. Just as the President is doing in that photo. :)

I'm very glad you called it the Western Wall. The term "wailing wall" was started as a derrogatory term used by Arabs in mockery. Unfortunately, the term caught on and we had to hear it all the time.
thanks again,

The Western Wall is definetly open to gentiles, even to put your prayers in the cracks as has become a tradition. Dont worry about avoiding any Jewish areas out of not being accepted, trust me theyl love you, getting visiters is a rare thing for them these days and it boost the economy. Id recommend whilst you visit the Western Wall you take a look round the cardo which is downtown Jewish quarter. Quite alot of lovely shops and a Kosher pizza place to die for ;)
Oh and Id recommend not spending too long, if any time in the arab quarter of Jerusalem. I understand youl want to go see the garden tomb of cource, but keep a good hold onto your wallet. Almost every time Im there someone gets theirs lifted the brief time we spend in the arab quarter.
Shalom and G-d bless
