I had a thread in debate forum about the law not being voided and listed many scriptural references supporting it but someone gave me one reference i dont comprehend fully.

Luk 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John.
Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone enters forcibly into it.

what is this saying? Yeshua said until heaven and earth pass but luke says until john. whats the deal with that?

OK well, the very next verse says:

But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter in the Torah to become void.

Give me a few more minutes and maybe I will understand more. I'll write more later.

Up to the time of Yochanan(John) the immerser there were the Torah and the Prophets giving their prophetic and predictive witness to the coming of the Kingdom of G-d. The verse does not mean that the authority of the Torah and Prophets came to an end when Yochanan appeard (an error even the notable Hebrew Christian thinker David Baron made). But since then, in addition to their witness, the Good News of the Kingdom of G-d, , which is now "near", has been proclaimed directly, first by Yochanan and now by Yeshua, with the result that everyone is pushing to get in.

OK this looks like a good explanation and he puts it better than I could have. Hope this helps some.

Some people can't be taught simple mathmatics i cant stand it. Now I remember why I don't go hunting for debates anymore. You were helpful though.
