So, I'm back in Lake Charles. If you couldn't tell by my activity here! Y'all missed me, right? I'm here now! You can rejoice again :-P
I do thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes. I know they were with me the whole time, and especially when travelling. I blew a tire just a few miles from my exit when I was going to Dallas. A nice man called the courtesy patrol for me. They took me to a tire place and I bought a tire and they changed my tire for me and I was back on my way.
I'll have lots to say about the convention, but I'm not really in the mood for posting much right now. I'll talk about it later, but let's just put some of the highlights for me here:
Lost And Found
Reaching Out to Unchurched Teenagers
Incredibly Hot Games and Community Builders
David Crowder Band
The Jesus Painter
Shane and Shane
Ted and Lee
The Skit Guys
Taylor Mason
Leeland Klassen
The Panic Squad
Now, if that's impressive to you, just wait until I do feel like posting more!
I had quite an intereting trip back to Lake Charles. I stayed in Buffalo, and even went through Cleveland and Huntsville.
Of course, Texas food was not as good as Louisiana's. I'm a spoiled rotten brat when it comes to good food. It was great connecting with people who are like me. When I'm here in Lake Charles, I feel so alone. There were apparently some others from Lake Charles, but I never ran into them. That's too bad. However, there weren't any other women from Lake Charles at the women's luncheon, so maybe it was only men and maybe they were ones that believe women shouldn't be in ministry, but that's only a maybe. I can't say for certain. I'm very glad about the luncheon, though.
I'm frustrated with my church again. They're now mad that I sent out the flyers about the concert. My mom told me that they even said, "Well, maybe we shouldn't have it now," but my mom said she thinks she convinced them it's a good thing to do and we might even have the concert at the church! So, perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. I have faith that God will make this concert happen. I see the slinkies as a good sign. I remember a story about God sending somebody dimes, so maybe God is sending me slinkies? It would make sense. . .
I also had a great rest and prayer time while there, which I needed. I got to have a good time in my faith and I learned that many people have to hit their own rock bottom before becoming completely serious about Christ. My rock bottom was doing what I would never do - sleeping with guys to please another (the exboyfriend).
Oh, and as for my crush on Michael D. Bridges of Lost And Found "fame," I told not a single soul at the convention about that. I did, however, meet a guy that's been to my FanSite and George told me he's also been there, which is quite awesome! I got so excited when I saw George's piano up on the stage for the musicians and then saw George getting things ready. I, of course, got there early for that General Session. I couldn't help but just adore Michael and that awesome smile of his.
I had somebody take a picture of me with George and Michael after the late night concert and I was calm. However, seeing Michael in person just confirmed that I think he's cute. I saw lots of cute guys, too. A few were there with their wife or girlfriend - and, yes, quite a few were single, too, but I didn't meet anybody.
Oh, and as for Buffalo, Cleveland, and Huntsville - those are all cities in Texas.
