From Thrivant (http://www.thrivent.com):

"Luther" the movie has played in theaters in nearly 1,000 U.S. cities since its release in September 2003. It currently is being released in theaters worldwide with great success.

On November 30, 2004 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. will release "Luther" on DVD and VHS in major retail and video stores.

I've never seen the film. It never appeared in my area. Anyone seen it? If so...what were your thoughts on it?

Luther is a very good movie that captures his life from the Thunderstorm that changed his life from Law Student to Monk and then through the Reformation and his marriage to Katie Von Bora. Joseph Fiennes captured Luther's struggle between flesh and spirit very well. I do recommend this movie.

I think they showed it in our area since we have a large number of Lutherans (mainly ELCA) in our county. I never have time to go to the theatre, though, so I have anticipated it's DVD release.

YEAH! I cannot wait for the release! A very old b&w film I saw in college got me interested in becoming a Lutheran. Does anyone know about that film?

Yes! I hear it's really good, but I was sick when my church went to see it in Baton Rouge :(
