The story of S&G paraelles the Genesis flood story. So I guess in wanting to use an example of what sort of society and world existed before it destroyed itself was S&G. Well thats what came to mind. This got me thinking about other ancient cities and what was the world like pre flood. Is there any examples and Gobekli Tepe came to mind. Not just any particular ancient city but rather trying to get an understanding of the culture back then and S&G gives some insight but so do other archeological sites which give some insight into at least their beliefs for which we can get some insight into how they lived and what factors may have led to their downfall. So I guess its all of the above. Any understanding of a culture, society needs to be about the ethics, beliefs, politics, ideology, the science or lack thereof, their worldview ect. I guess I could have made this more clear but initially I didn't realise it would involve so much. My intention was not to make it merely about morality but about anthropology and cross cultural psychology. The thinking behind a societies fall. OK theres a few different sources. It is more about how society falls, the gradual signs in how society will fall so in that sense if it relates to any verse its Matthew 24:32 & 33 understanding the signs of the time. But not just biblically also in practical terms. How does society, a culture or the entire world system breakdown and whether we are getting closer to that or not. Is there a line we crossed already or are about to cross. Sorry if its a bit confusing and thankyou for engaging..
