If the Messiah had appeared on the first day of the week, what would one day later have been?

Does the day of Christ resurrections tell us to change the worship of Sabbath?

Actually, as has been touched on, as far as scripture is concerned, there are only two times mentioned with regard to anybody getting together on the first (day) of the week - John 20:19 and Acts 20:7. There is never any mention of them ever again being together on the first. The John reference...

What is Jesus Saving us from ?

Perhaps not hell, but Revelation 20:15 does say that He will be casting people into the lake of fire.

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

To add to SabbathBlessings comments: The Acts reference might very well have had them getting together to break bread with Paul because he happened to be in town and wanted to talk to them before he had to leave again. The "breaking of bread" can simply be saying that the disciples got...

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

I don't see any reason given in the NT for worshiping on the first day of the week. Nor do I see any scriptures which say that anyone was worshiping on the first day of the week.

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

I wrote that the scriptures are silent with regard to anyone practicing a keeping of the first day of the week in honor of the resurrection. You responded that the early Church is not silent. Since the writers of the NT were silent about it in their NT writings, I was wondering if they were...

3 days/3 nights and the Pharisees

So the sign could have been any number of days and nights, e.g. 1 day and 1 night, or 1 day and no night, etc.? It was just the first number that popped into the Messiah's head.

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

Just seems curious that a new practice that is so important - even a mortal sin to not practice it - was not mentioned.

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

If by "Lord's Day" you're referring to the first day of the week, any thoughts on why scripture says nothing with regard to anyone doing that?

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

So you're saying that the writers of the NT were not a part of the early church?

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

No. My comment, that you quoted, was about the resurrection. So why then did you reference verses which say nothing about it?

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

Those verses say nothing about the resurrection.

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

And in addition, the scriptures are silent with regard to anyone practicing a keeping of the first day of the week in honor of the resurrection.

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

So you're referring to a midnight to midnight calendar day as well as to the second night time of the calendar day. I thought you were talking about a midnight to midnight calendar day and as such it wouldn't be tomorrow morning but rather the first night time of tomorrow.

Was the first day of the week also called the Lord's day?

First let me say apologies to tonychanyt for being so far off from his OP. And an apology to you, I misread your post. I see that you were saying that the secular world doesn't start a calendar day at sunset and not that you were saying that. You were saying that the calendar day goes from...
