1. Cohen was sentenced to prison because of his lucrative fraud crimes, not the FECA charges. The SDNY (Southern District of New York, the Federal Court that would actually deal with Federal Law violations) never charged Trump, and it almost certainly wouldn’t have charged Cohen if he hadn’t agreed to plead guilty.
2. YET - Bragg "blamed Trump in an extensive narrative" claiming Trump is being charge with state crimes "for which Cohen “went to jail.”
3. Charges actually being litigated against Trump consist of : accusations "that the former president is guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records", no charge of conspiracy and no federal charges in this state court trial.
4. Nothing in the actual charges about interfering with an election (by having one's political opponent put on trial .. .for example)
5. Nothing in the actual charges about a conspiracy

Maybe try actually reading the information in the OP article. Deal with the facts of the sham trial and maybe suppress the deep seated hatred for Trump just a bit.

So they have an expired misdemeanor (business record fabrication), so to get a court case they have to find an underlying felony, to bump the charge up to a felony to avoid the expiry. However it appears the underlying felony was not defined until the Prosecution closing argument.
In New York, the Prosecution close second, so the Prosecution got to define the underlying felony, after the Defence had done their close. So no chance to response to the actual specific underlying felony. Prosecution selected three possible underlying felony (one of which was not raised anywhere in the original charge). Judge then decides that the jury does not have to unanimously agree on which felony, as long as each of them believes Trump is guilty one of the felonies. So the jury can go 4 for each of the underlying felonies and have 8 that believe he is not guilty that underlying felony, and still find Trump guilty of the underlying felony. Also the underlying felony is only at balance of probability not beyond reasonable doubt.

One of the felonies was around Federal Election issues, Defence were doing to bring an expert on this field but the judge refused this expert to testify, as stating the law is his job.

As an Australian, the home of kangaroos, they deserve not to besmirched with this travesty, the term "kangaroo court", hence forth be known as a "Merchan court"

Trump was not on trial for trying to steal the election and the judge made that clear. This story is just right wing propaganda. Merchan bent over backwards in giving Trump leeway.

Trump was convicted by the people, not the judge.
