I've been thinking maybe we need a St Justin debate area type in OBOB

Well, it would be a subforum. So technically not exactly in OBOB.

I think that's how the St Justin Martyr corner goes.
Talk to staff about it. Not what I want though. It’s being done already all over CF where it’s allowed. I just really do not see the point.

So I know sometimes I would fit into that forum - but I am trying not to be that guy so much. But I have a related question for you guys. Do you think debating ever opens peoples minds that they may be wrong, or just need to be less rigid? Or is it 99% of the time people not even open to different views or learning?

Some of the best debates I have seen were with Gavin Ortlund, very kind and open minded. A striving to understand the other side, rather than just throw stones at it. Yet at times a long list of historical facts is presented, and the other person even agrees with them, but then says "I still stick to XYZ, even though facts are against it".

Frustrating, as it seems even the most charitable debates don't change people.
