Our Oriental Orthodox church has always rejected the filioque, following the revelation of scripture, the early patristic witness, and the ecumenical council of Constantinople.

Fr. Tadros Malaty, a contemporary Oriental Orthodox theologian, writes, "The Orthodox Church insists on refusing the addition of the Filioque because of the early Church’s experience and teach ing about the Holy Spirit are reflected on her creeds."
