Hagia Sophia turned back into a mosque

I'm not talking about what happens externally, in the context of opposed literal forces. I'm talking about the interior symbolic context in the unitive world of spirit. Clearly, this is a spiritual victory over secularism, for those who can grasp it. It was a mistake to turn the Church into a...

Hagia Sophia turned back into a mosque

I support this move by Erdogan. Kemal Ataturk converted the Agia Sophia into a museum, which means that the building was de-sacralized and the religious tradition abrupted. Consequently, the building has been poorly maintained and in steady decline under all of Turkey's secular history. This is...

    Spiritual warfare prayer items

Yes but seems there is no big market for my preferences.

    Spiritual warfare prayer items

That's correct however aesthetics are not unimportant (especially for Catholics) and I was thinking of decoration.

    Spiritual warfare prayer items

Hi, Does anyone know a European online shop selling templar knights decor and other spiritual weapons? Here's a site from the US that exemplifies what I'm talking about: https://catholicwoodworker.com Unfortunately, shipping overseas is expensive, so I was thinking maybe someone provides...

I want to change my Muslim name

Not quite my cup of tea. In Catholic church I feel there is an overarching structure where everyone is a "Roman", whereas in orthodoxy you're still a Greek, a Russian a Serb etc.. Different but same (at least in relation to protestantism).

I want to change my Muslim name

Haven't heard if him. There is a Swedish Catholic saint, called Eric the holy (a medieval Swedish king), but I don't know if he'd count as an orthodox saint.

I want to change my Muslim name

My second name is Eric, do you know if there is any valid Orthodox/Catholic saint named Eric? Thanks for your help. I go to Catholic church by the way. I feel the milieu is more international and organized there, whereas when I went to Greek orthodox service once it felt very 'ethnic' and...

I want to change my Muslim name

That was before the Turkish nation-state was created, so religious identity came before national identity. That is essentially where I stand too, I'm not a great fan of state ideologies, but my name probably comes from ottoman times, so perhaps I should just accept it as an 'empirical' fact of...

I want to change my Muslim name

No it is too awkward. Some days I am happy about my name and others I want to change it but then feel guilty for it. So I have these identity issues that are not easy to speak about. My more mature self tells me I am making too much of a big deal out of it. That's why I'm consulting you.

I want to change my Muslim name

I posted this in the forum for new Christians but I figured you orthodox folks might understand me better, especially if there are any Greeks in here. So I am a fairly new non-baptized Christian (by faith) and I have a deep urge to change my name to a Christian one. My current first name is...

    Intelligent design ≠ free will

If God planned and created us through evolution, how can there be free will? It means our lives and progression as a species is entirely preconfigured by God, rather than random natural selection. Thus, every move we make is pre-calculated by a divine mind. Or is it that free will "emerged" with...

    I'm trying to become a Christian but I can't

The bible cannot of course be set aside. We need the Word of God as spiritual bread more than we need churches. Just look at New Age spirituality, which seems to lead nowhere except drugs, spiritual greed and self-neglect. I would have no issues with that. It seems to me that 'Sola...

    I'm trying to become a Christian but I can't

I should clarify. Obviously reading about Jesus in the Gospels convinced me of Christ, but I did believe in God before that. I believe that the Holy Ghost is active all the time, and everywhere, and can inspire anyone even if they have not heard of Jesus conceptually. I became positive towards...
