    Evolution or Creation?

True but science is not infallible and can change in the future if it turns out to be false. The "fact" of science simply means "best possible explanation" not definite explanation. Either way God created the universe.

    An interesting account of purgatory.

It could very well be. The Church has never officially described the conditions of purgatory.

How do Adam and Eve fit in with evolution?

At some point in human evolution, two hominids known as Adam and Eve were born of human souls. Prior to them, humans didn't exist other than non-human animals. That's how I explain it. Evolution is currently the best possible explanation but if it happens to be false, at least Christianity...

Books similar to Seven Storey Mountain?

I can't think of any in particular similar to Merton but perhaps The Long Loneliness: The Autobiography of the Legendary Catholic Social Activist might offer an interesting insight into a convert's life. Amazon.com: The Long Loneliness: The Autobiography of the Legendary Catholic Social...

What was the role and authority of the Pope in the early ecumenical councils?

Thanks for your detailed response, it cleared some of my doubts. I asked this because I had some doubts about Papal Supremacy and the Orthodox claims to being the True Church.

What was the role and authority of the Pope in the early ecumenical councils?

Hi I would like to understand the role of the Pope in the early centuries at the ecumenical councils. Could a council be summoned without the Pope's permission? Did the creeds have to be finally approved by the Pope to be considered valid? Is this the reason why the OO and OE churches haven't...

What if the Church changes its long-held doctrines of the faith?

Thanks for your reply. Hildegard von Bingen was a very unique figure in Christian history. I love her music and mysticism although many of her views were controversial. As for change, when I first decided to become a Catholic I was aware of the Church's "hard teachings" which I still deal with...

What if the Church changes its long-held doctrines of the faith?

I agree. If something is declared as truth, it cannot change otherwise the Church would contradict herself.

What if the Church changes its long-held doctrines of the faith?

What would it imply if the Catholic Church changes Her infallibly taught rules regarding same-sex relationship, contraception, divorce and remarriage, women's ordination? Is it likely to happen and if it does happen, would it imply that the gates of hell have prevailed?

The Queen Of Heaven Is A Devil!

Mary is our Mother and Queen of the New Davidic Kingdom John 19:26 - Jesus makes Mary the Mother of us all as He dies on the Cross by saying "behold your mother." Jesus did not say "John, behold your mother" because he gave Mary to all of us, his beloved disciples. All the words that Jesus spoke...

    Trying to find a Denomination

I agree with GoingByzantine there. Although I'm not a Byzantine Catholic but a Latin Catholic, I do find the Eastern churches very attractive. There isn't one near where I live unfortunately. The good thing about the Catholic Church is its liturgical and cultural diversity.
